On December 5, 2019, Attorney Shana R. Lewis will be presenting at the WASPA School Personnel Academy at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Shana will serve on a panel of attorneys addressing LGBTQ issues in the employment and public school district environments.
On October 31 and November 1, 2019, Attorney Kirk Strang will provide a legal briefing to Technical College District Board Members and Presidents. Kirk will discuss Open Meetings and Public Records issues affecting Technical Colleges and the impact of technology on Public Records issues for Technical Colleges. The conference is hosted by Waukesha County Technical College.
On October 11, 2019, Attorney Shana R. Lewis will be presenting at the Wisconsin Association of School Superintendent Assistants (WASSA) Fall Workshop at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Shana will present on the topic of school board meeting minutes.
On October 10, 2019, Attorneys Kirk Strang and Tony Renning will provide a legal question and answer at the General Session for the 2019 Wisconsin Association of School Superintendents’ Assistants Fall Conference in Wisconsin Dells. The program is a free form discussion and question and answer session on issues of interest to executive assistants to school district superintendents.
On October 6, 2019, Attorney Chad Wade will present at the Wisconsin Association of School Councils’ Leadership Institute in Waunakee, Wisconsin.

On September 21, 2019, Attorney Kirk Strang will attend the Wisconsin-Michigan football game to cheer on our beloved Badgers against the despicable Michigan Wolverines. This event has nothing to do with our law practice, but Kirk is very excited about it and wishes to have it noted for the record that he despises Michigan.

On September 5, 2019, Attorney Shana Lewis presented the Legal Update at the CESA 2 PAC meeting in Whitewater, Wisconsin.
On August 12, 2019, Attorneys Kirk Strang and Chad Wade appeared at the CESA 11 Legal Summit. Kirk provided an update on School Law and Current School Legal issues and Chad provided a Special Education Law update. The program is sponsored by CESA 11 for School District Administrators, Business Managers, Directors, and Principals.
Attorney Shana R. Lewis presented at the Super Summit IV Workshop for School Leaders on Thursday, August 1, 2019, in Madison. Shana’s presentation topic was Social Media Dangers, Traps and Mistakes, & Employee Harassment Complaints. The Super Summit IV Workshop for School Leaders, which is sponsored by McKinstry and Baird, also includes presentations by School District Administrators, State Legislators and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
On July 29, 2019, Attorney Rick Manthe presented at the Master Academy for Civic and Public Affairs in Green Bay on FMLA, discrimination, and FLSA laws.
On July 25, 2019, Attorney Shana Lewis presented on the topic of Navigating Difficult Personnel Challenges to Ensure a Positive Workplace Culture at WASPA’s Academy for New HR Administrators and Support Staff.
Kirk Strang presented at the 2019 WASDA Summer Legal Seminar on July 24-26, 2019, in Sturgeon Bay. The conference is the largest legal conference for state school district superintendents of the year. Kirk made his annual presentation on changes and updates in school and education law for Wisconsin School Districts.
On July 16, 2019, Attorney Rick Manthe presented at the Municipal Clerks and Treasurers Institute in Green Bay on various municipal topics.
Kirk Strang appeared at the WASPA Legal Seminar for Experienced Practitioners on July 9-10, 2019, in Sturgeon Bay. The program is offered by WASPA primarily for Directors of Human Resources for Wisconsin School Districts.
On June 26, 2019, Attorney Shana Lewis presented on the topic of Effective Use of School District Legal Counsel to students enrolled in the Edgewood College Educational Doctorate Program.

Kirk Strang appeared at the 2019 Wisconsin Association of School District Administrators (“WASDA”) Annual Educational Conference in Madison on April 11, 2019. Kirk reviewed hot topics and recent developments in school law. The Conference is for all Wisconsin School District Superintendents.
Kirk Strang performed with the legendary Superintendencies at the 2019 WASDA Annual Educational Conference in Madison on the night of April 11, 2019 (Kirk’s birthday). The name of the Superintendencies’ tour for this year will be finalized as soon as band leaders Bryce Bird and Bob Berndt are in the mood. It can safely be said that this performance will be unlike anything that anyone has seen or heard before. Stay tuned for details.
